Varakļānu attīstībai Association is established
FacebookVarakļānu attīstībai was established on 8 February 2024. Its main aim is to involve the public in local government work concerning sustainability, entrepreneurship, tourism and communication.
With activities to encourage public participation taking place across Latvia, the founders sincerely hope the organisation will become a valuable community partner in Varakļāni Municipality.
The main aims set out in the association’s statutes
Participation in long-term municipal development planning
The association will take part in preparing development planning documents for Varakļāni Municipality, ensuring residents’ views are included and attention is paid to public needs and priorities, while respecting a diversity of opinions.
Organising activities, events and initiatives
The association will encourage and support activities and initiatives related to learning and development for residents, businesses, associations and foundations.
Organising business idea competitions
Together with the municipality and other partners, competitions for new business ideas will encourage entrepreneurship and economic growth in the area.
Raising funds and developing projects
The association will develop projects and seek support from funding programmes and foundations available to non-governmental organisations.
Building a democratic and cohesive community
The association will seek to encourage a democratic and cohesive local community, cooperation and mutual understanding.
Using digital media and social networks
The association will work actively to raise the profile of Varakļāni Municipality in digital media and on social networks.
