Varakļānu attīstībai offers help with creating a simple website and hosting it on the association’s server, making local businesses, organisations and initiatives easier to find online.

We can help present your work, services or offer clearly, add contact details and prepare the website for search engines.

Your social media presence

From your first profile
to everyday conversations.

We help create and organise Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts, connect them in Meta Business Suite and prepare them for everyday communication with customers, visitors and the local community.

Support can include profile design, business descriptions and contact details, links between your website and social accounts, publishing tool setup and guidance on getting started.

We can also help maintain and administer social media accounts. Regular content creation, publication planning and the scope of administration are assessed individually, taking the association’s capacity into account.

Your business or organisation retains ownership of its accounts. The association receives only the access needed for the work; we help arrange access securely and use two-factor authentication.

We can also help host your website under your own domain and prepare its basic configuration: connecting DNS to the association’s server, setting up an HTTPS certificate and redirects to a consistent website address.

These are example addresses. We will agree the name and hosting arrangement to suit your idea. Registration and renewal fees for your own domain are not included in the free basic offer.

Email with a local identity

Local small businesses, self-employed people, home producers, associations and community organisers can request an email address under the varaklaniem.lv domain. It helps express a connection to the Varakļāni area and complements a website and social media presence with a consistent contact address.

This could become your public contact address in place of an existing Gmail, Inbox or other address. This is an example; address availability and suitable arrangements for receiving and sending email are agreed individually.

The service is provided and managed by the association. Please contact us to discuss how the address can be used, access arrangements and any support you need.

Email is provided through Google Workspace with the familiar Gmail interface, in a browser and the Gmail app, using your own @varaklaniem.lv address.

We can also help connect email to compatible third-party email applications that support secure Google sign-in. We check the application’s compatibility and the account settings before connecting it.

Encryption and privacy. Within Google’s infrastructure, email data is encrypted at rest and in transit between Google data centres. Communications with other email providers use TLS encryption when the other provider also supports it.

Mailbox content is not shared with other users in the association.

Community collaboration

We can help associations, community organisers and small businesses arrange file sharing for public events and local initiatives, including posters, programmes, working documents and materials intended for publication.

In an environment managed by the association, we can prepare a shared folder and agree which materials are for the working group and which may be made public. Access is provided as needed; sensitive data and materials without permission are not published.

Google Workspace for Nonprofits has been activated for the association, expanding our tools for collaboration and file sharing. Our aim is to help the community make practical use of digital tools for everyday communication and shared projects.

Digital security

Thoughtful protection.
Safer everyday use.

We consider security from the start. Websites use encrypted HTTPS connections, and we help configure account and shared-file permissions and two-factor authentication where available.

The association’s server protection mechanisms and access restrictions help limit unauthorised access attempts and malicious bot activity. We also restrict access to technical files and use browser security policies to reduce the risk of vulnerabilities being exploited.

We regularly apply security updates to software managed by the association. We assess and introduce the latest versions with compatibility and service stability in mind. Security maintenance continues after a solution goes live.

For file sharing, we distinguish public materials from working-group documents. We provide only the access needed and help select sharing settings appropriate to the project.
