The association’s objectives cover active living for children and young people, alternative learning opportunities and support for family life through camps, events and excursions.

A 2013–2014 publication of the Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments describes cooperation with the municipality on a hockey and skating rink in Varakļāni. This is a historical project example.
